BLOOD WORKSHOP
Today in lesson I looked at making fake blood and did a workshop with the class. I discovered that some fake blood were better than others because of the consistency or the taste. I experimented by making peppermint fake blood (Realistic looking mint blood) firstly.
The recipe for making peppermint fake blood consists of:
I came to the conclusion that peppermint fake blood (Realistic looking mint blood) was very good for chucking at people because of the liquid consistency. I found the food colouring was a bit over powering which meant it didn't taste nice when people dripped it from their mouth however it looked very realistic. When I was making the peppermint blood I discovered that the consistency would go lumpy if the corn starch wasn't dissolved in hot water before-hand.
Other students in the class experimented making a variety of different types of fake blood:
I did a taste test before I experimented which fake blood was best when chucking at people. I discovered that the peanut butter blood was tasty which was beneficial because that meant during the trailer people could keep it in their mouths or swallow it. . Chocolate blood also was edible and tasted nice. I also discovered that if too much food colouring was added it ruined the taste of the fake blood meaning that in my trailer the blood wouldn't be able to stay in peoples mouths.
I discovered that cocoa was good for spitting or dripping out of the mouth because it was quite a liquid consistency compared to chunky peanut butter blood which was good for showing internal parts in the blood because of the peanuts howeverI discovered that it wasn't easy to chuck at people or drip out of peoples mouths. Cheap 'n' easy fake blood was made with washing up liquid which means if it gets on clothes it can be washed out which is beneficial however there is a disadvantage with this blood because if water reacts with this blood bubbles will be created so you either have to do one shot and keep making more cheap 'n' easy blood until you get the shot correct or use a different blood.
I thought that this workshop was very beneficial and I learnt alot about which fake blood to use in different circumstances in my trailer. I will be using Cheap 'N' easy blood in my trailer to make the death of one of my characters more interesting.
