DISTRIBUTION COMPANY RESEARCH
UNIVERSAL PICTURES
The Universal Pictures logo is good because the idea behind the distribution company is to distribute the film worldwide and within their logo they have the world spinning round to show its across the entire world. I also like the simpleness of the logo because the title is clear and recognisable. The fact that they have pretty much kept their logo the same over the last 100 years since being founded in 1912 means they have used the recognisable factor to build their brand and become one of the most well know companies in their sector. I used the idea of the clear title in my distribution logo to attempt to achieve the same factor of recognition as well as the generalised idea of space to show we're a universal distributor of all genres.
DREAMWORKS
The Dreamworks logo shows a boy fishing while sat on the moon. They then show the Dreamworks logo appearing through the cloud creating intrigue into what the company is called rather than it just appearing like most logos making it rememberable. The use of the night sky suggest the universal aspect of the company as it shows the universe and implies the movies are there for everyone. They have also like universal kept pretty much the same logo since the began which builds a brand for them rather than if they kept changing it. I used the idea of the stars in my logo to try and give the same universal effect.
20TH CENTURY FOX
20TH CENTURY FOX
One of 20th century fox's logos strongest aspects is their recognisable music, as soon as it comes on its instantly recognised which is good because it makes the distribution known building its brand. Also the bold easy to read logo makes it simplistic and rememberable. I used the idea of the bold writing in my logo to make it easy to read and rememberable.
